  • What is Oracle?
    Buxton Coates Solicitors’ Oracle Service is a monthly Employment and HR service which provides support to any business whether in the dental industry or otherwise.
  • What is included?
    Oracle includes the drafting of employment contracts, self-employed agreements, a Staff Handbook as well as advising you on any employment matters including change of terms and conditions, redundancy procedure, grievance and disciplinaries and many more topics.
  • Is there just one package available?
    There are two packages: Standard and Premium. The Standard package includes everything listed above, and the Premium includes all of these plus additional services such as locum agreements, casual worker contracts and TUPE Advice.
  • How is Oracle different from other HR Services?
    Buxton Coates Solicitors are a team of qualified employment solicitors, which means not only are we experts within this field but we can take responsibility for the documentation that we provide you with, whereas some HR companies will take no responsibility and expect you to seek further professional advice on the documents. We always provide you with bespoke documentation for each individual employee or self-employed person, we will never provide you with a precedent and expect you to fill it out each time you need it.
  • Are you aware of how dental practices operate?
    Whilst we can provide Employment support to any business, our team are experts in the dental industry and this has proved extremely important throughout the covid period as we understand that dental practices that are not solely private could not fully benefit from government support. We also understand that dental practices were set with various conditions by the CDO in order to continue receiving monthly NHS payments, and we continue to monitor CDO guidance so that we can support you through this difficult time.
  • Are there any additional charges?
    We do always advise that you have Legal Expenses Insurance to cover your legal fees and any out of court settlement or compensation order made by an Employment Tribunal, however this is not obligatory and whilst we can obtain quotes for you, this is not provided directly by us. If a service you require falls outside of the Oracle Service, we will provide you with a quote however we would never incur costs without your authority. There are no hidden charges within our fees, no joining fees or other administrative fees which can be found in some HR subscription services.
  • Is there a limit to how much we can use Oracle?
    Absolutely not. You have unlimited access to our Employment experts during the course of your subscription with us and would never place a limit on such advice. We understand the importance of needing access to our legal adviser’s and we would never restrict this, it is important that when choosing a HR Service you ensure there is no limit placed on advice.
  • Can we have face to face meetings?
    We always like to meet our clients and build a personal relationship with them, as part of the Oracle Service we offer one visit to your Practice per year for no additional charge, which we hope to resume shortly subject to covid restrictions. However, if you are local to us and feel you would benefit from a face to face meeting at our offices, we are more than happy to welcome you at our office.
  • Would we always deal with the same person?
    Your Service will be allocated to one of our Employment specialists, and they will be your main point of contact. However, there will always be someone available to speak with you and provide you with assistance should your main file handler not be available. We pride ourselves on not being a call centre type service and whoever you speak to in the team will always have knowledge of your business and your ongoing matters.
  • Do we receive updates on changes to the law?
    You will receive monthly employment updates to your email on any changes that we think may be beneficial for you to know. In addition to this, we will send updates in addition to this if we think there is something that may affect your business. Throughout the covid period we have issued regular newsflashes, updated and Frequently Asked Questions to keep you up to date so that you do not have to spend time doing this yourself and can focus on running your business.
